Cornflakes with fresh fruit (Low FODMAP)

For a quick breakfast, most people go for the breakfast cereals. Unfortunately, breakfast cereals and the FODMAP diet are not a good combination. Fortunately however, there are some exceptions. Gluten-free cornflakes can be found in almost all supermarkets and can be combined perfectly with some (Low FODMAP) fruits! And you do not have to spend a lot of time on this super fast combination, so you can stay in your bed a little longer in the morning ;-).



  • Gluten-free (!) Cornflakes
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Rice drink

How to make it


For me personally, almost no day goes by that I do not eat gluten-free cornflakes. This can be either as breakfast or as a dessert after dinner. It is simple and super tasty. The gluten-free cornflakes are nowadays for sale in many supermarkets. It has to be noted that regular cornflakes do not contain many FODMAPs, so you could eat them to find out if you can handle them and save some money 🙂

Anyway: Throw as many cornflakes in a bowl as you like. Then add some blueberries and raspberries. You can also choose to do only one of the two, of course. It does not matter very much whether you use fresh fruit or frozen fruit. Both are tasty, but frozen fruit must thaw for quite a while before using them.

Then pour the dish full of ice-cold rice drink and eat it! I always use Rice Dream Rice Drink. It tastes better than the cheaper brands and gives it a smooth taste. In addition, you have a variety with added Calcium. This is useful because eating calcium can be a challenge with the FODMAP diet. Want an even simpler breakfast? Then leave the fruit and it still tastes fantastic!
